San Jose Earthquakes

In Case You Fell Asleep

Playoff Picture
After watching a pretty fun friday night game last week between UConn and West Virginia, we had to watch the slowest game I have ever seen. The USF Bulls took on Louisville in what I thought would be a solid game. Two of the top ranked teams in the country kicked off for a spot amongst the top 5 in NCAA rankings. If this is what the NCAA calls the best of the best, yikes! It turned out to be a huge sleeper.

MLS Mock Draft V2.0

Nyarko

Now with 29% more Meat!

Well, the combine is over now and it is time to update my Mock Draft.

Here we go!

1st – Kansas City F: Patrick Nyarko (VT) Gen Adidas
Quite possibly the best striker in the NCAA this year. Nyarko has a vision of the game like no other striker in this draft. In his 48 career starts for Virginia Tech, he has scored 31 goals and notched 24 assists. With Kansas city moving up and with the loss of Eddie Johnson, this is a no brainer. On a side note: What the heck was San Jose thinking?

2008 MLS Mock Draft V1.0

Avila

This week has finally taken a toll on my body with non stop research and reading. I feel strong enough to show you my first Mock Draft. There will be updates with this mock draft this weekend as the MLS combine gets underway.

Also, remember that there will be a live blog on draft day where I will be LIVE in Baltimore, Maryland answering readers questions, talking to coaches; and hopefully we can break some trades or draft picks right on the blog. So make sure you check thescore.ca on Friday Jan 18th @ 1:00

1st – San Jose M: Eric Avila (UCSB) Gen Adidas
A very talented kid who already dominates the NCAA game as a junior and has a great deal of upside. With a national championship under his belt, I feel he is ready for the next level. I can see San Jose picking up Avila and feel he can be a great player to build a team around.
